AMCHAM Recognizes Outstanding Corporate Social Impact in Thailand 

From Reducing Carbon Emissions to Upskilling Thailand’s Youth, to Advancing Gender Equality, AMCHAM’s 2024 Winners Achieve Ambitious Goals for Corporate Social Impact 

November 13, Bangkok– The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM) recognized the significant contributions of 114 member companies to Thai society and environment by honoring them at the 2024 AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Awards.  

The awards ceremony was presided over by key dignitaries, including U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Robert Godec, Thai Trade Representative Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, and Deputy Secretary General of the Board of Investment Wirat Tatsaringkansakul. 

Ambassador Robert Godec personally presented certificates of excellence to each company, acknowledging their dedication to sustainability and the betterment of society. “Integrating corporate social impact into business models not only supports the communities that companies do business in, it is also good for the economy. The social impact work by U.S. companies and AMCHAM members benefits the Thai people and Thai society and is one of the most direct and effective forms of people-to-people diplomacy.  I hope that the positive impact of their work will inspire more companies to embrace CS impact.” 

The AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Awards, has been the cornerstone of corporate social responsibility in Thailand for almost 20 years, raising the bar for CSR practices in Thailand. The program highlights the commitment of AMCHAM members to long-term societal objectives and sustainable value creation, aligning these initiatives with employee engagement and corporate intentions.  

Member companies received recognition at various tiers for consecutive years of achievement, with Silver for 3 consecutive years, Gold for 5 consecutive years, and Platinum for 10 consecutive years. This year 36 companies received awards for more than ten years of consecutive corporate social impact. In addition, three companies received special awards for their individual corporate social impact projects: 

• Agoda won The Ambassador’s Award for their project “Agoda Tech Camp Day.” Agoda Tech Camp Day has equipped over 1,600 students with essential skills in AI, UX/UI, and web development, inspiring them and preparing them for careers in Thailand’s growing tech industry. Presented by U.S. Ambassador Robert Godec, this award recognizes a project for empowering and creating resilient communities through education, upskilling, and entrepreneurship. 

• Thai Union Group won the Thai Development Award for their project “Shrimp Decarbonization Project”. This project focuses on strengthening economic resilience for local farmers and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in shrimp farming by integrating solar energy and producing low-carbon shrimp products. Presented by Thai Trade Representative Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, this award honors a company that fosters climate resilient and sustainable future in the face of climate change challenges. 

• PepsiCo won the Impact Excellence Award for their project “She Feeds the World,” which enhances food security and nutrition by empowering women small-scale producers. The project builds their skills in sustainable agriculture practices, market engagement, gender equality, and nutrition security. Presented by AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Board Governor Liaison Simon Denye of Harmless Harvest, this award is given to a company that nurtures an inclusive society by embracing diversity to reduce inequality (DE&I). 

“We are honored to celebrate the AMCHAM business community’s commitment to corporate social impact, partnering with Thai society on sustainability, workplace diversity and equity, and investing in upskilling and technology,” said AMCHAM Executive Director Heidi Gallant.  

The AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Awards take place in autumn each year. AMCHAM is proud of what members do to give back to the Kingdom and Thai society, making the business and social environment better for all. Throughout the year, the AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Committee shares best practices with the membership, providing support and resources for member companies who are developing or improving their corporate social impact strategies.

หอการค้าอเมริกันในประเทศไทยมอบรางวัลเชิดชูเกียรติบริษัทสมาชิกที่มีความเป็นเลิศด้านการสร้างผลกระทบเชิงบวกแก่สังคม (Corporate Social Impact) 

ตั้งแต่การลดการปล่อยคาร์บอน การพัฒนาทักษะเยาวชนไทย ตลอดจนการส่งเสริมความเท่าเทียมทางเพศ ผู้ได้รับรางวัลจากหอการค้าอเมริกันประจำปี 2567 บรรลุเป้าหมายด้านผลกระทบเชิงบวกต่อสังคม 

13 พฤศจิกายน 2567 กรุงเทพฯ – หอการค้าอเมริกันในประเทศไทย (AMCHAM) ได้มอบรางวัลเชิดชูเกียรติแก่บริษัทสมาชิก 114 บริษัท ที่มีส่วนร่วมอย่างสำคัญต่อสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อมไทย ในงานมอบรางวัล AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Awards ประจำปี 2567 

พิธีมอบรางวัลได้รับเกียรติจากผู้ทรงเกียรติหลายท่าน อาทิ นายโรเบิร์ต โกเดค เอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกาประจำประเทศไทย ดร.นลินี ทวีสิน ผู้แทนการค้าไทย และนายนายวิรัตน์ ธัชศฤงคารสกุล รองเลขาธิการคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุน 

เอกอัครราชทูตโรเบิร์ต โกเดค ได้มอบประกาศนียบัตรแห่งความเป็นเลิศแก่บริษัทต่างๆ ด้วยตนเอง เพื่อเป็นการยกย่องความทุ่มเทด้านความยั่งยืนและการพัฒนาสังคม “การผนวกรวมกิจกรรมเพื่อสังคมขององค์กรเข้ากับรูปแบบธุรกิจไม่เพียงแต่สนับสนุนชุมชนที่บริษัทดำเนินธุรกิจอยู่เท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นประโยชน์ต่อเศรษฐกิจอีกด้วย กิจกรรมเพื่อสังคมโดยบริษัทสหรัฐฯ และสมาชิกของหอการค้าอเมริกันในประเทศไทยเป็นประโยชน์ต่อชาวไทยและสังคมไทย อีกทั้งยังเป็นการทูตภาคประชาชนทางตรงที่มีประสิทธิภาพที่สุดรูปแบบหนึ่ง ผมหวังว่ากิจกรรมเพื่อสังคมที่เป็นประโยชน์ของบริษัทเหล่านี้จะเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้บริษัทอื่น ๆ ได้มีส่วนในการทำกิจกรรมเพื่อสังคมต่อไป“ 

รางวัล AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Awards ซึ่งเป็นหลักสำคัญของความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมในประเทศไทยมาเกือบ 20 ปี ได้ยกระดับมาตรฐานการดำเนินงานด้าน CSR ในประเทศไทย โครงการนี้แสดงให้เห็นถึงความมุ่งมั่นของสมาชิก AMCHAM ในการสร้างเป้าหมายระยะยาวเพื่อสังคมและการสร้างคุณค่าที่ยั่งยืน โดยผสานแนวคิดเหล่านี้เข้ากับการมีส่วนร่วมของพนักงานและเจตนารมณ์ขององค์กร 

บริษัทสมาชิกได้รับการยกย่องในระดับต่างๆ ตามจำนวนปีที่ได้รับรางวัลติดต่อกัน โดยระดับเงินสำหรับ 3 ปีติดต่อกัน ระดับทองสำหรับ 5 ปีติดต่อกัน และระดับแพลตินัมสำหรับ 10 ปีติดต่อกัน ในปีนี้มีบริษัท 36 แห่งที่ได้รับรางวัลต่อเนื่องมากกว่าสิบปี นอกจากนี้ยังมีบริษัทสามแห่งที่ได้รับรางวัลพิเศษสำหรับโครงการผลกระทบเชิงบวกต่อสังคม ได้แก่: 

• Agodaได้รับรางวัล The Ambassador’s Award สำหรับโครงการ Agoda Tech Camp Day ซึ่งได้ให้ความรู้ด้าน AI, UX/UI และการพัฒนาเว็บแก่นักเรียนกว่า 1,600 คน ซึ่งได้สร้างแรงบันดาลใจและเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับอาชีพในอุตสาหกรรมเทคโนโลยีที่กำลังเติบโตในประเทศไทย รางวัลนี้มอบโดยนายโรเบิร์ต โกเดค เอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกา ให้แก่โครงการที่เสริมสร้างพลังและสร้างชุมชนที่เข้มแข็งผ่านการศึกษา การพัฒนาทักษะ และการประกอบการ  
• Thai Union Group ได้รับรางวัล Thai Development Award สำหรับโครงการลดคาร์บอนในการเพาะเลี้ยงกุ้ง มุ่งเน้นการเสริมสร้างความพร้อมทางเศรษฐกิจให้แก่เกษตรกรท้องถิ่น และลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกในการเพาะเลี้ยงกุ้ง โดยการบูรณาการพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์และการผลิตกุ้งคาร์บอนต่ำ รางวัลนี้มอบโดย ดร.นลินี ทวีสิน ผู้แทนการค้าไทย ซึ่งรางวัลนี้มอบให้แก่บริษัทที่ส่งเสริมอนาคตที่ยั่งยืนและรับมือกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ 
• PepsiCo ได้รับรางวัล Impact Excellence Award สำหรับโครงการ “She Feeds the World” เสริมสร้างความมั่นคงด้านอาหารและโภชนาการ ด้วยการเสริมพลังให้กับเกษตรกรรายย่อยที่เป็นสตรี โดยการพัฒนาทักษะในการเกษตรแบบยั่งยืน การเข้าถึงตลาด ความเข้าใจเรื่องความเท่าเทียมทางเพศ และความมั่นคงด้านโภชนาการ   รางวัลนี้มอบโดยนาย Simon Denye จากบริษัท Harmless Harvest กรรมการบริหาร AMCHAM และผู้ประสานงานคณะกรรมการ Corporate Social Impact รางวัลนี้มอบให้แก่บริษัทที่ส่งเสริมสังคมแห่งการอยู่ร่วมกันโดยการยอมรับความหลากหลายเพื่อลดความเหลื่อมล้ำ (DE&I)

พิธีประกาศรางวัล AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact จัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปีในช่วงปลายปี โดยหอการค้าฯ นั้นมีความภาคภูมิใจในความสำเร็จของบริษัทสมาชิกที่ได้สร้างคุณค่าเพื่อตอบแทนประเทศไทยและสังคมไทย ซึ่งเป็นการสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมทางธุรกิจและสังคมดีขึ้นสำหรับทุกคน โดยตลอดทั้งปี คณะกรรมการ Corporate Social Impact จะแบ่งปันข้อมูลด้านหลักปฏิบัติที่ดีเยี่ยมเหล่านี้ให้แก่สมาชิก ตลอดจนให้การสนับสนุนและมอบองค์ความรู้ต่างๆ แก่บริษัทสมาชิกที่อยู่ระหว่างการสร้างหรือพัฒนายุทธศาสตร์ด้านการสร้างผลกระทบเชิงบวกแก่สังคมของตน
