Organized by: Excise Council

Event Highlights:

On March 12, the AMCHAM Customs and Excise Council Co-chairs welcomed delegations from the Customs Department to the Virtual Membership Meeting to provide updates on two important Customs policies aimed at facilitating international trade: the National Single Window System (NSW) and the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program.

The session began with a brief overview of the NSW system in Thailand, highlighting its comprehensive architecture and the electronic documents, such as e-Form D, accepted by NSW, which greatly facilitate and streamline cross-border trade. Additionally, there was an introduction to the AEO program, launched in 2014. Details regarding the qualifications, benefits, process, and criteria of the AEO program were shared during the call. Furthermore, the Customs officers disclosed plans to expand cooperation with international counterparts regarding both the NSW and AEO schemes. The session concluded with a productive question-and-answer session, during which members had the opportunity to learn more about operational details of both the NSW and AEO programs.

AMCHAM continues to collaborate closely with the government to foster seamless electronic cross-border clearances, thus supporting the competitiveness of Thailand.
