About the Committee

Mission.

The Tourism & Hospitality Committee’s (THC) Mission is to promote the Travel and Tourism industry of Thailand and the U.S. by facilitating communication and developing business between Thailand’s private and public sector, and within the AMCHAM community of businesses. The THC discusses travel trends and issues within and affecting the airline, hotel, tour companies, convention, exhibition, business travel, medical tourism, and ground transportation industries. With the continued material impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on Tourism and Hospitality in 2021, the primary focus of the THC committee has been on advocacy to support the key requirements of the industry. Representing almost 100 AMCHAM Tourism and Hospitality members, the committee has worked together with the Royal Thailand Government, fellow Chambers, industry-related Associations and business representatives to discuss strategies to safely and sustainably reopen Thailand to international travelers, promote domes-tic tourism, and provide financial relief for owners, operators, and industry employees.
