Meeting between U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation and AMCHAM Thailand
On August 20, AMCHAM Executive Director Heidi Gallant joined a meeting with a U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation and Thai private sector companies with investments in the U.S., hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Hattaya Khusakul, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs emphasized nearly 200 years of close and strong relations between Thailand and the U.S. and reaffirmed Thailand’s committed to further enhancing its economic ties through increased trade and investment.
AMCHAM Executive Director Heidi provided an overview of U.S. business and investment presence in Thailand highlighting the accessibility and responsiveness of the Thai government and policymakers to the business sector. She also noted other key strengths for attracting foreign investment, including ease of doing business, investment incentives, established infrastructure, energy security, connectivity, and workforce quality. The session concluded with a questions-and-answer session between the U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation and the Thai private sector representatives.
