About the Council
Mission: To promote the travel and tourism industry by facilitating communication and developing business between Thailand’s private and public sector; to provide a forum to discuss travel trends and issues affecting member businesses; to work with the Royal Thai Government to accelerate growth of international and domestic travelers in an environmentally and culturally sustainable manner.
2025 Highlights:
- Partnered on the Thailand Tourism Forum (TTF) 2025, the largest post-pandemic gathering of hospitality leaders to discuss the rapidly
changing tourism business landscape. - Participated in a Roundtable with the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) to discuss new waste management initiatives.
- Jointly with the Human Capital Council, hosted Building a Future Ready Workforce for Thailand’s Tourism Industry to explore challenges and opportunities in rebuilding this sector’s workforce post-Covid. Panel speakers included Phantajit Promkutkaew of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT); Chalothorn Sumanasrethakul from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports; Bree Creaser of Minor Hotels; and Khemkhaeng Andrew Rohrbach, a recent graduate of Asian Institute of Hospitality Management.
- Supported the Phuket Hotels for Islands Sustaining Tourism (PHIST).
- Jointly with the Aerospace Council, hosted an event on Enhancing Connectivity for a Sustainable Future, with panelists representing airlines,
online travel agents, TAT, and the Airports of Thailand. Panel speakers included Chuwit Sirivajjakul, Deputy Governor for Policy and Planning, TAT; Daniel Wu, Head of Global Government Affairs, Agoda; and Noor Ahmad Hamid, CEO, Pacific Asia Travel Association.
