Roundtable Meeting with H.E. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, the Minister of Finance

On Feb 1, 2023, AMCHAM President Ornkanya (Mook) Pibuldham led AMCHAM members to meet with H.E. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, the Minister of Finance, and the representatives from the Fiscal Policy Office and the Revenue Department at the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting was productive and informative to both parties. There were fruitful discussions about Thailand’s economic outlook of 2023, the government policies, and efforts to achieve sustainability goals of becoming carbon-neutral and zero greenhouse gas emissions. The positive updates regarding financial regulatory on Tax Loss Carry Forward, entertainment-related issues, and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s Pillar Two Model Rules: Anti Global Base Erosion were well received by the members.

In this regard, the minister positively welcomed engagements and collaborations from the private sector to elevate Thai economy and competitiveness in the future. AMCHAM reiterated the readiness of AMCHAM’s business community to constructively cooperate with the government’s endeavors to enhance prosperity and quality of life for Thais.
