Creative Economy Council - Looking to the Future: Thailand's Creative Industries - Foresights and Trends – Dec 14
AMCHAM Creative Economy Council Co-chairs welcomed guest speaker Chirathep Senivongs Na Ayudhya, Managing Director of Bolliger & Company Thailand to talk about foresights and trends in Thailand’s creative industries. Chirathep did a deep dive into four scenarios that impact the future of creative industries such as cultural value added, sustainability revitalization, technological blending, and prosperity downturn and drivers under each scenario. He also mentioned that when we look at the business environment of the creative industries, we need to consider the probability and unpreparedness variables.
He further talked about policy recommendations that have been proposed to the Thai Government for the sustainable development of creative industries that support art appreciation, capacity building of industry stakeholders, developing database on the supply side, and harnessing data and technology to become more adaptive.
The event was followed by a question-and-answer session where members talked about implications of these trends in Thailand, the impact of changing political dynamics globally on creative economy and industries, and policies and legislations that can be put in place to support the growth of creative industries in the future.
Chirathep reiterated on the importance of the role of organizations like AMCHAM in promoting creative industries and advocating for policies that make the business environment for creative industries conducive for all.
