AMCHAM participated in a fruitful discussion with the Minister of Finance
On June 13, 2022, Tibor Pandi of Citibank and Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM Thailand) led a group of AMCHAM members to meet with H.E. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, the Minister of Finance. The meeting was also joined by representatives from the Department of Comptroller General, the Revenue Department, and the Fiscal Policy Office.
During the meeting, AMCHAM members had an opportunity to present several issues related to tax and customs measures, e-commerce regulatory development, as well as sustainable financing to support the country’s economic recovery and the long-term well-being of the population. The Minister welcomed members’ proposals, provided updates on the progress of each proposal, and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with the private sector to enhance the efficiency of Thailand’s financial infrastructure and regulations to support overall growth of the country.
AMCHAM stands ready to build a constructive partnership with the Ministry, especially as a resource for best practices, business insights, and jointly organized activities on sustainable financing to promote inclusive prosperity and the well-being of the Thai population.
