Pol. Lt. Col. Tanchanok Rommayanont, began the meeting with a presentation on SMART visas. SMART visas are designed to attract highly skilled manpower, investors, executives, and startups entrepreneurs wishing to work or invest in targeted industries in the Kingdom of Thailand. She gave details on the procedures for application, visa tenure, exemptions, and additional privileges attached to the Smart Visa. She also briefly spoke about visa changes implemented by Immigration due to the pandemic for foreigners staying in Thailand and for those entering the Kingdom.

The event was followed by a question-and-answer session. AMCHAM members asked questions on the possibility of acquiring Non-B visa upon arrival, getting work permit on Covid-19 visa, online 90-day reporting, and converting certain visa types to Non-B without the necessity of leaving the country. It was also a platform for members to have a dialogue with the Immigration Bureau on changes to immigration laws and policies that can support the ease of doing business in Thailand and make the business environment more favorable for Small-Medium Enterprises.
