The Governors’ Table

On August 20 at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit, AMCHAM hosted its first in-person networking event after returning to the new normal, The Governors’ Table.

AMCHAM’s board governors, Tibor Pandi of Citibank and George Hartel of GQ Apparel were hosts for the evening. At the start of the event, George introduced himself and spoke about his company’s pivot from clothing manufacturing to making masks in response to Covid-19. This was followed by an introduction by Tibor Pandi, who spoke about digital transformation in the banking industry and employee preference to work from home. They lead AMCHAM members into an active discussion on how businesses are thriving in the new normal, technological disruption, challenges and opportunities from Covid-19, and managing human capital during this time. This was an opportunity for members to make valuable personal connections and cultivate new business relations. This event was also the first in a serieswhere AMCHAM board governors host AMCHAM members in a personalized dinner setting to talk about current events and to connect with other members.

The event was limited to 20 guests to allow meaningful conversations and space considerations for social distancing. Guests were given AMCHAM goody bags with GQ masks and face shields and were encouraged to wear them while interacting with each other. Members felt safe with these measures and were happy to be back to the networking scene in a secure environmentAMCHAM member Bobby Gulati, Raja’s Fashion said – It was my first time out in over 5 months and I thoroughly enjoyed it

If you missed this event, don’t miss The Governors’ Table on August 27, which will be hosted by our board governors, Rachel Davidson of Hilton & DoubleTree Bangkok Sukhumvit and Greg Wong of Agoda.
