Government Affairs Update: US-ASEAN Workshop on IP Enforcement and Public Awareness

I participated as a speaker in the panel discussion on “Working Together: Public and Private Initiatives” of the ASEAN-USPTO Workshop on Intellectual Property Enforcement, Public Awareness and Consumer Behavior on November 8, at Lancaster Bangkok Hotel.

Other panelists were John DaSilva/Kenan Institute; Desarack Teso/Microsoft and U.S.ABC; Alec Wheatley/EABC; Norihisa Kato/JETRO, and Eleonora Casarosa/Piaggio Group (Vietnam). The moderator was Peter Fowler/USPTO, Washington, D.C.
The discussion covered advocacy work, outreach, the value of public-private collaboration, educating the public, and enforcement.
It was an excellent opportunity to have AMCHAM represented in this forum, not only to highlight AMCHAM’s advocacy efforts, but also to underscore AMCHAM’s commitment, as a major player, in working with the Thai government to address the immense challenge of intellectual property protection.
