Government Affairs Update: AMCHAM Road Safety Campaign 2018 -19
By Tomwit Jarnson, Director, Government Affairs and Public Policy at AMCHAM Thailand.
Dear AMCHAM Members,
Each year, Thailand records one of the highest number of road casualties worldwide. Road safety continues to be a major issue in the country, with hundreds killed and thousands severely injured annually. AMCHAM is committed to supporting the Royal Thai Government to reduce road fatalities, especially during the New Year and Songkran holiday season. To do so, we would like to request information about road safety/driving safety programs that our member companies have implemented, either for the benefit of their employees or for the public. We will consolidate this information and will reach out to appropriate agencies in the Royal Thai Government to share and take it forward.
AMCHAM's Road Safety Campaign 2018-19 will serve to:
- Promote road safety for AMCHAM members, employees and community
- Share best practices and tangible results on road safety.
- Engage and collaborate with relevant Royal Thai Government agencies to achieve sustainable outcome.
If you would like to participate in this program, including providing samples of your own company's internal and/or external safety programs and participating in the meeting with the Royal Thai Government, please send information on your company's program (a brief description or bullet points, no more than 1 page) to Khun Tomwit, email: email@example.com, by November 26.
The Government Affairs Council will discuss the plan of action, will then work to set up a meeting for further discussion with the Royal Thai Government, and will also invite interested company members to participate.
Thank you krub.
