Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)

Mission: Supporting the ESG journey of AMCHAM members to facilitate corporate citizenship and planetary stewardship. Focusing on the challenges and opportunities of the transition towards climate neutrality and the circular economy. Fostering a rewarding approach to ESG for people, planet, and profit by exchanging experiences and expertise from private and public stakeholders.

2025 Highlights:

• Conducted seven monthly meetings to exchange best practices, identify areas of government dialogue and important initiatives to pursue with key government and industry stakeholders.
• Invited a variety of guest speakers throughout the year. Rachanee Chanawatr, Principal Investment Officer of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) presented on IFC’s mechanism for business sustainability including technical assistance, blended finance, performance based incentives, and green bonds/loans. Hannah Martinez; Head of Sustainability Advocacy Americas, Indorama Ventures provided updates on the United Nations International Negotiation Committee on Global Plastic Treaty Negotiations (INC). Harsh Dash, CEO of CleanMax, presented on solar energy investments, cost-saving solar panel options, and current government policies supporting solar installation and renewable energy adoption. George Borovas, Partner and Head of Nuclear Practice, Hunton Andrews Kurth, presented on the current state of nuclear energy in Thailand and its prospects.
• Conducted a joint online meeting with Food & Agribusiness on Extended Producer Responsibility: Circular Economy in Action.
• Conducted a Roundtable Meeting with the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority to discuss new waste management initiatives.
• Issued AMCHAM Recommendation Letter for the Draft Sustainable Packaging Management Act.
• Currently working on AMCHAM Recommendation Letter for the Draft Clean Air Act.
• Hosted a site visit to Indorama Ventures’ 360° Gallery showcasing circular economy innovations.
