Digital Innovation & Enablement

Mission: The Committee addresses topics relevant to the underlying technology for all economic activity mediated by software and enabled by telecoms infrastructure and services. The Committee keeps members up to date on regulatory issues and on the intersection with other sectors, inviting speakers, organizing events, and providing a forum for advocacy. Members learn from each other, sharing ideas, knowledge, and experience. The Committee supports the role of the digital economy in enabling universal participation in Thailand’s social and economic enterprise by all stakeholders.

2025 Highlights:

• Held two working group meetings with members to discuss developments in Thailand’s digital regulatory landscape, including the Draft Guidelines on Unfair Trade Practices and Anti-competitive Conduct on Digital Platforms as well as the Draft Platform Economy Act.
• Issued two AMCHAM Letters of Recommendation for digital regulations:
  – Draft Platform Economy Act – as a result, the Cabinet paused the draft regulation and asked relevant government agencies to conduct further studies.
  – Trade Competition Commission of Thailand’s draft guidelines Targeting Unfair Trade Practices and Anti-competitive Conduct in Digital Platforms for the Sale of Goods or Services (E-commerce) – as a result the government approached our members for in-detail feedback.
• Hosted a site visit to the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA)’s Digital Valley in the Eastern Economic Corridor.
