About the Council

Mission: The Customs & Excise Council is committed to building a long term, constructive dialogue with the Customs and Excise Departments, in order to effectively communicate AMCHAM members’ customs and excise priorities.

Plans and Priorities for 2025: In addition to regular member meetings and seminars, the Council plans to meet with the new Director General of the Excise Department on current policy priorities, including carbon credits and CBAM. With the Customs Department and Revenue Department, they will continue dialogue on transfer pricing. Advocacy issues for the new year are likely to include ATA carnet for export out of custom free zones and the new export control law.
