On Aug 17, at the Thailand–U.S. Trade and Investment Summit 2026, the afternoon roundtable discussion on Partnering for Resilient Food-Agri Supply Chains, moderated by Dr. Kirida Bhaopichitr, Vice Minister for Commerce, brought together representatives from the Customs Department, DITP, OAE, and NXPO, alongside private-sector and other stakeholders.
The discussion explored how Thailand and the United States can deepen cooperation to address growing pressures facing agri-food systems, including resource scarcity risks associated with extreme climate conditions.
Drawing on U.S. experience in applying advanced technologies to agriculture, participants discussed how solutions can be adapted to Thailand’s farming context and underscored the importance of practical public-private-academic collaboration to ensure regulations keep pace with innovation, and unlock opportunities for a more resilient, competitive, and sustainable food-agri sector.
