AMCHAM is pleased to present Microsoft as one of the candidates for the People's Choice Awards. Microsoft partners with DEPA to support future workforce demand in the Eastern Economic Corridor, equipping 40,000 youth with programming skills. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the ACE Recognition program, AMCHAM is pleased to introduce our People’s Choice Awards. We have invited our first ever group of ACE platinum Candidates - companies who will have earned the ACE Recognition Status for 10 consecutive years - to submit their favorite CSR project irrespective of scale, budget or focus. Winners will be decided by general vote by AMCHAM members.
Digital Skill Training
Microsoft’s vision is to equip young people with digital skills so that they are ready to achieve more in their future careers. Therefore Microsoft (Thailand), in partnership with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) and Pattaya Redemptorist Technological College recently delivered digital skills training for teachers from 500 schools in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), that enables them to share their expertise with more than 40,000 students in Chon Buri, Rayong and Chachoengsao. The training is given to student with disabilities and roughly half of the young participants in the program are girls – a fact that resonates with Microsoft's belief that diversity and inclusion in the tech industry can only be achieved through equal opportunity at every level. Under this initiative, Pattaya City 7 School (Ban Nong Pang Kae) has been selected as the model school where ongoing intensive training sessions are running until the end of 2019. The aim is to develop a high-quality workforce that supports the job market’s future needs. The initiative is a part of the ASEAN Digital Innovation Program, a regional Microsoft campaign taking place in 7 ASEAN countries which focuses on enhancing young people’s skills through train-the-trainer courses that are specially created on www.futurereadyasea.org, built in collaboration with the ASEAN Foundation.
