The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand ("AMCHAM") is committed to protecting the privacy of internet users. AMCHAM has adopted guidelines which serve as the basis for our work on the world wide web. These guidelines have been developed with the recognition that internet technologies are rapidly evolving, and therefore these guidelines are subject to change. Such changes will be posted on this page.
Below is information outlining our support for the responsible management of personal information. Please read the following terms and conditions relating to your use of the AMCHAM web site carefully. By accessing and using the AMCHAM web site, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Statement. If you choose not to accept the stipulated terms and conditions, please do not use this web site.
During the process of delivering web pages and advertisements to visitors of our web site, AMCHAM does not actively attempt to collect any personally identifiable information about you such as name, address, phone number, or e-mail address, other than as may be explicitly requested.
The host service provider where the web site is located does keep log files with some non-personally identifiable information about your internet session, such as the internet service provider you use to connect to the internet, your web browser type, or the type of computer operating system you use (Macintosh or Windows, for example). Additional information may also be recorded about which pages are viewed, where you browsed from, and where you browsed to when you left the site. If you sign on to the site as an AMCHAM member, using your member ID and password, then that information may also be recorded, together with the session data described above. These log files will be accessible only to AMCHAM and to the service provider hosting the web site. However neither AMCHAM nor the service provider extract any member-specific information from these files.
All information retrieved from these files by AMCHAM will be in aggregate form so we can better understand the type of individuals who use our web site and learn how we can better serve the needs of our users; for systems administration and troubleshooting, and for measuring the effectiveness of site content. AMCHAM may provide parts of this aggregate data to third parties that assist AMCHAM in carrying out its endeavors.
If any information that you are asked to volunteer will be used in any non-aggregate form, this will be clearly indicated on the page requesting that information.
Messages sent to AMCHAM via the web site's e-mail hyperlinks or feedback pages are not encrypted and may be viewed by AMCHAM. AMCHAM cannot be responsible for the use of e-mail messages sent to any recipients other than AMCHAM via the web site's email hyperlinks.
Postings submitted to any of the AMCHAM web site's discussion forums may be viewed by any AMCHAM member. AMCHAM cannot be responsible for the subsequent use or interpretation by its members of any statements or of any information contained in those postings including, but not limited to, the further dissemination of those statements and information to persons who are not AMCHAM members.
