Join the American community of Bangkok in celebrating Independence Day with a traditional community picnic event. This year the picnic will take place at Bangkok Patana School on Saturday, July 1st.
The event will feature vendors selling a variety of food and beverage options, including a full American BBQ with traditional burgers, hot dogs, ribs, chicken wings, and pie dished out by crowd-favorites Roadhouse Barbeque, Hooters, SO Sofitel, Dairy Queen, Captain Hook Smoke House, Anantara Riverside, and Sunrise Tacos. Drinks will be provided by Beervana, Jack Daniel’s, Coca-Cola, Singha, Boncafe and CoffeeWORKS.
Live bands including Ample Soul, Matthew Fischer and the Fishes, Southern Cross, Groove Junkies, and Sticky Fingers will be playing American rock, blues, and folk throughout the day and children will be entertained by Mattel Land, tug ‘o’ war, egg and water balloon toss, trampoline, dart games, and gunny sack races.
Aspiring cooks will have a chance to test their chops at a chili cook-off while foodies can show their speed and stamina at a pie-eating contest.
The highlight of the event is the raffle featuring prizes such as U.S. airline tickets provided by United, ANA, and Delta, hotel stays, meal vouchers, and more. Check the full list of prizes here. All proceeds from the raffle benefit the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand Foundation’s efforts to improve the quality of education in Thailand.
With live music, good food, cold drinks, and entertainment for children and adults alike, AMCHAM’s Independence Day Picnic is bound to be a fun-filled day for the whole family.
