Greater Phuket Chapter
MISSION
The Greater Phuket Committee aims to be a leading and admired organization that provides high level events and value to members. The committee will promote positive change in the Phuket region and encourage a more focused businesses community.
2012 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• The chapter held four significant events in 2011:
(1) a presentation by leading Hong Kong entrepreneur Allan Zeman;
(2) a property focused seminar with the heads of major Thailand property brokerage and consulting firms;
(3) a legal update with two international law firms;
(4) a Brand Phuket event, with leading communications and branding experts. The events helped enhance the reputation of the Phuket Chapter and AMCHAM Thailand.
• Membership has steadily increased, with a core local critical mass now onboard.
• In 2012, we hope to broaden our membership beyond our mainly service and hospitality base. Plans have been made to appoint two more committee chairs in the early part of the year and diversify events in order to broaden appeal and take more sustainable activism. We also look to strengthen our ties with the Bangkok membership and investigate cross marketing opportunities and the ability to better utilize the network of the AMCHAM organization.
